The idea of MESSIAH is a very ancient one and is reserved for the most important Human Leader, Saviour, God-man, "The-Anointed" in all 3 Abrahamic religions from middle-east.
Judaism is the most ancient of all 3 Abrahamic religions whose origins go back all the way to the begining of time.
"Messiah" is the English translation of the Hebrew word מָשִׁיחַ (mashiyach), which also means "anointed".
The Jewish idea of Messiah is a great human leader like King David, to be a descendent from the line of David, who will set all-things right and save the Jewish nation, uplift the downtrodden...etc
The Hebrew Bible [TaNaKh >> an acronym for first hebrew letters of each... Torah (law) + Nevi'im (Prophets) + Ketuvim (writings)] is the entirety of Christian Old Testament portion of The Holy Bible. It clearly identifies several key tasks that the Messiah will accomplish.

The 2000yr old term "Christianity" was considered by some scholars a derogatory word to address followers of Christ during early days. The word appears in plural 3 times in the scripture ( Acts 11:26, 26:28 & again in 1Peter 4:16) although the text in the Bible simply states "The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch", adds nothing more around the context of it's origins.

From Historical point of view Islam originated in early 7th century in the Arabian Peninsula, in Mecca. Roughly 600+ years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the completion of the wiriting of The Holy Bible texts.
Many of the Judaic characters and textual references from the Holy Bible appear in Islamic texts including "Jesus Christ" in 93 verses and some 187 mentions indirectly. Islamic text clearly point to and acknowledge Jesus as the "True Messiah". However notably deviates from the Truth of The Bible in the purpose of Messiah being God, Salvation, Eternity and other eschatological teachings such as life after death.
It is undeniabily accepted the Judeo-Christian texts (The Holy Bible) holds firmly to the extreme scrutiny and cross references, contradictional evaluations in comparison to any other literary works of man and has withstood the 'Test-of-times'. One must personally disover the God of the Bible is true and living God.
